Veterans Day began in 1918 as Armistice Day, commemorating the end of World War I. In 1945, after the return of service personnel from World War II and the Korean War, the holiday was renamed Veterans Day.

Veterans Day is celebrated to honor the service, and patriotism of all living American Veterans, and to rembere all those Veterans we have lost.
